Cultural Property Introduction

The exterior of the red brick textile mill

As a textile printing factory, its primary function was the dyeing of textiles.
As you can see, the factory has a saw-toothed roof.
Saw-toothed roofs with northward-facing windows made it possible to provide uniform natural light over the course of an entire day,

The red brick Saran Factory

It used to house large textile processing machines, but these have unfortunately been removed, as the building no longer operates as a textile mill.
As you can see from the outside, it has a row of windows all along the first floor, while the second floor is only partially outfitted with windows.

The boiler room

The boilers that stand here today are No. 3 and 4, which were built in 1941.
Called Lancashire Boilers, these were used in the production process to boil water and provide steam that was piped into the factory.
